The
Branch
Human first, Dancer second.
Engaging events, focused training, and impactful one on one mentorship. All with the intent of putting the human before the dancer.
Hello Branch Fam.
My name is Makaihlah.
Back in 2022 I founded The Branch to reshape the culture of the dance industry. I believe dance can be both healthy and transformative for each and every dancer. My hope is to create a space where my daughters, as well as future generations, can grow up and pursue their goals with balance, purpose, and heart.
We prioritize mental health (in dance) every step of they way through offering the following:
Branch Experiences
Focused weekend events open to everyone with stops all across the country. Come to learn, grow, and have fun.
Mentorship Programs
One on one mentorship by industry leaders to take your dance career to the next step with focusing on growing your skills AND your mind.
What does a Branch event mean to you?
"This was our 3rd year attending The Branch. We love the positivity in the lessons and the kind and fun teachers. The kids always come away feeling better about themselves and more connected to each other. As a dance teacher, I think it's more important to take care of our mental health as well as help the kids grow into great humans. The Branch helps me with this mission and is a wonderful convention for mind and body. We look forward to it each year!"
- Emily Suing (Studio Owner)
"One in four dancers have experienced anxiety or depression, so it's refreshing to have a convention focused on mental health. The environment is designed to encourage, challenge and support with the focus on learning and connecting, not competing. The parent-dancer class was a bonus bonding experience with my daughter."
- Andi Berg (Parent)
"My daughter loves to start her dance season with this event. It fuels her up with love, support, encouragement. She feels seen. Just an amazing atmosphere!!"
- Tatyana Haynes (Parent)
"THE BRANCH. What a beautiful way to begin a dance season. When you've got a dancer that is dealing with disappointment, inadequacies and questioning their love for dance, you need to be here. There is space for humility, freedom and growth, in a way that brings purpose not disappointment."
